The method
Inside a humanist-existential relational framework, the biosystemic method draws on the most consistent research in affective neuroscience and it makes use of both verbal (top-down) and body (bottom-up) oriented techniques aimed at emotional regulation. The goal is to restore the connection between the cognitive, sensorimotor and relational dimensions of the individual.
In this perspective, mind, body and relationships are key definitions to assess the well-being of the individual, who is welcomed and observed in their full psychosomatic and relational complexity.
The biosystemic method allows to intervene effectively in individual, couple and group settings with a psychocorporeal model which makes it possible to read and integrate the fascinating complexity of relational phenomena. It provides tools which enable to connect words with the global landscape consisting of movements, gestures, postures, sensations and feelings.
The biosystemic method is also a trauma-oriented psychotherapeutic model that allows safe and effective work when dealing with both simple and complex trauma. It is possible to do so through a bottom-up intervention approach that is essential to integrate traumatic memories dissociated from the original trauma.
